You will be pleased to know that with a view to promote the professional standard and dignity of the Civil Aviation, Biman, Foreign Airlines, Customs, Freight Forwarder and C&F agents and other aviation related people and to provide a platform for social and informal meeting as well as an abode for physical and mental fitness for the people working and associate with aviation sector, a club named “Dhaka Aviation Club Limited” was formed recently.

The Grand Inauguration of the club was held on 04 May 2013 at the Uttara Club in a befitting manner. Honorable Minister for Civil Aviation & Tourism Lt. Col. Muhammad Faruk Khan MP graced the occasion as Chief Guest and formally declared the inauguration of this club. Mr. Kevin John Steele MD & CEO Biman Bangladesh Airlines & Director ATS & Aerodromes of CAAB Mr. Azad Zahirul Islam attended the function as Special Guest while Mrs. Zakia Sultana Commissioner, Dhaka Customs was present as the Guest of Honour.

This club first of its kind generated huge enthusiasm among the professionals, officials and entrepreneurs and different stake holders in the aviation sector. About 300 dignitaries, guests and members of the club attended the function. Honourable Minister hailed the initiative for organizing such club even after 42 years of Aviation history of the country and realizing the need for such a club he assured to extend all out support from the Government side for this organization. He also gave assurance for allotting necessary government plot in Dhaka Bangladesh. It may be mentioned here that Dhaka Aviation Club has already got incorporated as a limited company from the Register of the Joint Stock Companies & firms, Bangladesh as per The Companies Act 1994 (ACT XVIII of 1994) as Company Limited by Guarantee under section 29 ( Registration number C-110006/13 dated 2 July, 2013) under Ministry of Commerce.

In order to ensure full functioning of the Aviation Club we need to establish a club house, sports facilities, Swimming pool, Health Gym, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Library, Hall room and Accommodation for Foreign Guests, Dining restaurant & car parking etc.

We hope that all stakeholders of the aviation sector will extend their hands of cooperation in giving the right shape to our beloved Aviation Club.
