Greetings From President

PresidentIts my immense pleasure to welcome all of you in the Grand Inauguration of the Dhaka Aviation Club.

Dhaka Aviation club is a social-recreation club for the executives, professionals, businessmen and entrepreneurs working in the aviation field of the country.

The main objective of this club is to make a common platform for the people working with the aviation business and to provide them an opportunity to come to closer and socialize with each other. This club also aims to develop professional standards and promote the air travel & air transport logistics and as well as tourism industry in the country.

As for the history of commercial aviation in Bangladesh, it started with Air Bangla International in January 1972, which is what we know as Biman Bangladesh Airlines. In the last 42 years, the air travel industry of Bangladesh has developed manifold. The aviation industry of Bangladesh is worth more than US 500 million dollars and transports around 4 million travellers annually. Air travel growth is directly related to the country’s GDP growth and is instrumental in fostering tourism of the nation.

Thousands of professionals and entrepreneurs are working in the aviation sector. We are working relentlessly in day and night 24 hours round the clock to keep the wheels of our economy moving. We have seen many social and recreational clubs like Government Officers Club, Army Officers Club, IEB but there is no recreational or social club for the professionals and service providers in the aviation sector. There is no denying that for physical and mental wellbeing and for interdepartmental coordination and informal meetings, the role of club is vital.

However, late better than never, we have just started and we have a dream that like other professionals, aviation people will get a common club of their own.

Dhaka Aviation Club is your club. We need your kind suggestion, support and assistance to make our long cherished dream true.

Wishing you all the best.

Md. Mostafizour Rahman

President
